Abstract
Communal traditional performing arts in the contemporary era have shifted strategically from mere aesthetic spectacles into psychophysical therapeutic spaces for society. However, grassroots art groups like the Guyub Rukun Art Group in Jatisawit, Sleman, face serious challenges including monotonous performances, damaged instruments, and manual organizational management. This action research-based community empowerment program aims to optimize the group's existence through musical innovation and institutional governance restructuring. Method: This study utilized musical ethnography methods involving 25 community members through four main phases: socialization, knowledge transmission, technological hybridization, and management renewal. Results: Technological intervention using a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) successfully created a hybrid sub-genre that harmonizes the pitched aesthetics of angklung and the unpitched sound aesthetics of Yogyakarta-Banyuwangan style hadroh. The application of acoustic frequencies based on the Fibonacci sequence proved effective as an emotional therapy medium that reduces players' stress levels. Institutionally, the implementation of the trichotomy of music concept modernized the group's manual management and secured formal legalities, namely the Art Identification Number (NIK) and Decree (SK) from the local government. Conclusion: This program has significantly improved the aesthetic quality of the performance, maintained the psychological well-being of a heterogeneous community, and unlocked access to the Special Region's Heritage Fund (Danais) toward a Culturally Independent Village.
